Interests/Activities/Hobbies/Religious or Civic Affiliations:
I am an avid Razorback fan in all sports. I enjoy playing golf,
baseball, bowling, basketball and tennis.  I also enjoy fishing and any outdoor activities.  I love to spend time with my family.  I enjoy watching movies with my wife. We were members of Heritage UMC from 2016-2018, I have been pastor of Norman UMC from 2018-2020 and I have been a member of the UMC since 1995.
Three things I value about pastoral ministry in The United Methodist Church:
  1. First, I value the sacraments of Communion and Baptism.
  2. I value our connection as a church! If I need help just ask!
  3. I value the power of prayer! This is where all of our power comes from!
Highlights from most recent appointment: My previous appointment was Norman UMC where we started a food distribution pantry to serve our community and did a monthly meal to help fight hunger in our area.  As a member of Heritage UMC I preached two Sundays per month at Methodist nursing home in Fort Smith.  I was also one of the volunteer leaders for our middle school (6th-8th grades) youth group. My wife was one of the teachers for the children’s ministry.
I am excited about working with the church to create vitality and to make disciples of Jesus Christ by: Reaching out to the community and providing activities which will help make disciples one person at a time.

Our Values & Beliefs:

We are a theologically conservative, Bible-centered body of believers within the larger United Methodist Church.

FUMC Horatio exists...
  • to "Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness" (Psalm 96:9)
  • to win the lost to Jesus Christ
  • to disciple every believer and to equip and empower every member for ministry
  • to spread God’s kingdom through charitable, righteous works

FUMC Horatio believes...
  • In one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
  • In one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made.
  • For us and for our salvation, Jesus Christ came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his Kingdom will have no end.
  • In the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in the one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
  • That the Bible is the true and infallible word of God and has supreme authority over the life of the believer and the life of the church.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.  In him was life, and the life was the light of men.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:1-5)
